This is the obligatory-these-days weblog of Paul Bellamy - communications designer based in Penzance, Cornwall, UK.
I’ve been designing websites since 1996. In 2004 I set up BellamyStudio Ltd, a company dedicated to designing good stuff for people that need it. (got to work on that mission statement)
Yep, in 1996 I left college (then known as Newport School of Art) and needed a job. I got offered the chance to build some websites for a friend’s-girlfriend’s-dad, and rather than explain that I had no idea where to start, I accepted the opportunity and quietly went about figuring out how to do it. I started with a copy of HotMetal before discovering that handcoding stuff was far simpler and more pleasurable in about 1998. Plus, by that time I knew what HTML was and how to use it.
Paul’s Boutique is in my top 3 favourite albums of all time (although the other two keep changing), and I needed no excuse to pay homage to it in the header of this site. Plus, it’s considerably better than “Paul’s Blog”.
This is the weblog of Paul Bellamy, owner of BellamyStudio, part-time 'mature' student and music snob. It's all been put together in a bit of a hurry.
